Lara Maertens Rhea has always had a passion for God and her family. She is a proud American and unafraid to voice her political opinions. She is a political writer, blogger, and reporter from Houston, Texas, where she was born and raised. She is a former runway and print model, and the reigning Ms. Conservative U.S. 2012. She uses her platform to help mentor young girls and to speak about conservative issues. Lara is also a heart patient, living with several heart conditions, which require a pacemaker and defibrillator to survive. She spends a great deal of her time talking to people about how to achieve balance and enjoy a wonderful quality of life in the midst of chronic health issues. Because of her own health battles, Obamacare is of great concern to Lara. She also stays well informed on the growing fiscal crisis in our country. Being a single mother raising a teenage daughter gives her all the incentive in the world to make sure the children of America inherit a country the Founding Fathers had intended. She believes that no matter how big or small our contributions are collectively we make an important difference in the direction our country is headed.
