Initiative would let voters overrule federal law

Voters could get the right to overrule federal laws and mandates under the terms of an initiative filed late Thursday.

The Arizona Constitution already says the federal Constitution “is the supreme law of the land.” This measure, if approved in November, it would add language saying that federal document may not be violated by any government — including the federal government.

More to the point, it would allow Arizonans “to reject any federal action that they determine violates the United States Constitution.”

    The US Constitution is a contract, agreed upon by 13 states.  Unfortunately, for the past 160 years the authority of the states has been eroded.  Recent SCOTUS rulings have eliminated the ability of the individual states to protect themselves form external invasion and the freedom of choice of the citizens of those states.

    I wonder when AZ passes this initiative, will Obama Invade the Sovereign State of Arizona the way Lincoln invaded South Carolina. Lincoln is responsible for the huge Federal Government we have today.

      The Civil War began with the shelling of a federal fort by the South.  Lincoln was not the one who started that war.  He did respond to the South’s attack on Ft. Sumter.  I miss your connection of that event with Arizona and the Obama administration.

    Good luck,  Im all for getting back to the rule of the Constitution.  I do not like having to be under the thumb of Communist/Socialist/Muslim sympathizers.  Getting the keys to the Whitehouse back from this foreign exchange student will be like pulling teeth.

    Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy defines Federalism:
    “Federalism is more than an exercise in setting the boundary between different institutions of government for their own integrity. By denying any one government complete jurisdiction over all the concerns of public life, federalism protects the liberty of the individual from arbitrary power.”
    One aspect of Federalism has found new acceptance by the states in their battle for state’s rights. It is called “nullification”. This is a process when a state feels the federal government has overstepped its authority, the state then declares that federal law “nullified”. In effect the state tells the federal government you did not have the right to make that law as it applies to our state and it will not be enforced within our state.

And vote upon the measure whereby ALL the expenses for campaign fundraising, and campaigning for the election, are tallied up and each candidate’s totals are paid in full by their PAC party funds. Vote by the American citizens, the government will govern by the US Constitution, The bill of Rights, and all of the Amendments, and using the USA voting requirements of the laws,Not made up Presidential rules. and NO EPA AGENCY 21 Plan and NO UN AGENCY 21 and NO UNITED NATIONS TAXATION FOR USA, Borders control, check for Immigration papers and green cards, deport the rest back over their borders safely. Vote IRS taxation for everyone at 1% of gross.
